Le parrainage de Rahki a démarré en 2018 selon la formule « intégrale » : hébergement, alimentation, scolarité et uniforme sont pris en charge.
Voici son histoire :
Rakhi Kanji is a 13 years old student of class V at JGVK school. She is from Jyotishpur village. She is very intelligent girl and always takes care of her study. She is very well at the level of her age, modest and good at her study. But recently, she is not able to continue her study any more. As her father is the only earning member in the family consisting of 5 members.
Rakhi’s father is a landless farmer and was a producer of indigenous fishing equipments. This is a rare job in rural Sundarban. He finds difficult to meet the family expenses with this work. Moreover nowadays this profession is at stake. So he has to switch over as a daily labour and migrate to different states of India to support his family. Rakhi’s mother also works as seasonal agricultural day labour. However it is difficult to continue education for Rakhi and her elder sister. Rakhi’s elder sister studying in class IX and a younger brother is only 8 years old.
